It is such an amazing feeling when a client gets in touch to book for baby number two. I get so excited…why…because I have had the amazing opportunity to get to know your family already and I can anticipate with you the arrival of your next tiny blessing. I never realized that I would get so emotionally attached…but I am …I love it…to get to see big brother and how he has grown. It helps me understand why my hubby, who delivers babies here in Moose Jaw, loves his job so very much. The privilege of being involved in another’s life during these most special of times, is just so powerful. The happiness…the joy…it is so incredible to get to see mom’s shining face as she admires this precious new gift in her arms. Or papa’s proud daddy look when he looks down on this new little angel. Love it…you just can’t beat it. Thanks for giving me this incredible opportunity!
I am anxiously awaiting this little beauty to arrive….this was our fun in December! This has been such a cold winter here in Saskatchewan. Just too cold this December day for my skinny fingers to be bare outdoors. But we were able to get some beautiful images of this pretty mommy for her memory book! Can’t wait to meet your new little one! And hopefully the roads will cooperate to get you here to Moose Jaw. Thanks for choosing me to capture these images for you!
Autumn is my very favorite season here in Saskatchewan. Especially September when the colours are just starting to change but we still have a little bit of warmth left. There are a few weekends that are my favorites to schedule a few family sessions. I am so glad that Amy referred her brother and his beautiful family my way. So glad you were willing to make the trek to Moose Jaw. We have some really pretty spots for fall family photos her in the good ol’ Jaw. This little sweetie was just so full of brilliant smiles, it was hard for any of us to take our eyes off her. She is such a little beauty and I think, that is looks like she has that blessing inside and out! She only decided to stop smiling when she started rubbing her little eyes. Precious baby girls! Sugar and spice and everything nice, that is what little girls are made of! And little Brooke fits that description so perfectly.
The weather decided to be just perfect for us, this early Saskatchewan morning. And literally, just a day or so before winter set in with avengance. I love this time of year, especially when it still mild and the wind isn’t playing its usual games. Mother nature was our friend this beautiful morn. Cody and Allison were such a pleasure to work with and so open to braving the outdoors. Must be the farmer in them! It is just so lovely, when you can visibly see the love between two people and their little gift that hasn’t yet made their appearance. I was especially in awe over this new dad’s love for the mother of his child. It was so evident, it just tickled my heart strings. God bless you in your life together and in the arrival of your little one. I think the best days of my life were the day I married the man of my dreams and the days that a new life was placed into my arms for the first time. Nothing can beat that! Nothing at all!
I could kiss Grandma Donna for asking me to do this. I love ballet….no…I don’t think that is a strong enough word…I adore ballet. There is just something so mystical and ethereal to me about ballet. This illusion of weightlessness and grace that they are able to create. When one of my favorite ladies asked me if I would photograph her beautiful granddaughter, I jumped at the chance. Hannah was so brave to be willing to go outdoors in October at 9 am in order to achieve this beautiful, colourful light. It was 2 degrees Celsius. You are one tough young lady, Hannah! I was amazed at how easily she was able to pull it off. She made it look like she wasn’t freezing somehow. Incredible! We then went back to my home to get the indoor studio shots in my little front office. Swan Lake, here she comes! Hannah, you make standing on your toes look easy! Ha!
