Back in the spring, this fun couple contacted me to set up a summer maternity photo shoot. They really wanted lakeside, beach, dock style photographs. We finally settled on a location between Regina and Moose Jaw which is one of my favorite secret spots. Not just for photos but for family outings. You might need to bribe me with …oh…lets say…chocolate…if you want me to tell. But some of you may recognize this wonderful, slightly out of the way place. It is smack dab in the middle of farmer’s fields. The blooming canola photos were taken just down the road.
What makes these photos so special aside from the amazing connection of these almost high school sweethearts and their little one on the inside…was the beautiful light we were blessed with on this hot summer’s night. These were shot early July, between about 8:15 and 9 pm. Finding that beautiful light is so worth it. The canola photos were taken in the last few minutes before the sun set completely. Divine light…what a gift. Worth waiting for. I didn’t even know the canola was in bloom until I began my drive out of Moose Jaw to our location. I was singing God’s praises on the way… what beauty all around us timed perfectly for this special couple…I was thankful to Him.
